Why Give?

Burnaby is a dynamic, diverse and changing community. As the cityscape has shifted, many Burnaby residents are struggling:

  • 1 in 5 children are living in poverty.
  • 16.1% of the seniors are living in poverty, and over 3,000 are experiencing isolation.
  • 5% of eligible workers are unemployed and 34.2% of the households make less than a living wage.

Where will my donation go towards?

We really cannot do what we do without the generous support of our community. Funding is not always guaranteed and hence we rely greatly on gifts from individuals.

  • $30 will buy a toy for a child from a family with low income through the Burnaby Christmas Bureau.
  • $120 will cover the cost of taking a senior to their medical appointments for 1 month.
  • $175 will help a child from a low-income family experience a week of Summer camp.
  • $500 will help support a family of four during Christmas by providing them with essentials.

Last year, with help from donors like yourself, we made the holiday season brighter for 3,016 individuals – including 1,667 children, 86 seniors, and 60 unique individuals (those who are homeless or at risk of homelessness). Each year, we strive to expand our reach to help more people in need. However, to do so, we need help from you.
